About This Spot

Stepping into ASIP Coffee Roaster Co. is like finding a quiet corner of calm in the heart of Merced. The moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted by the soft glow of natural wood accents and an abundance of lush green plants that soften the space with a gentle, living presence. This coffee shop moves at an inviting, unhurried pace—a place where time slows just enough to savor a rich espresso or a thoughtfully brewed pour-over without distraction.

The atmosphere here strikes a balance between lively neighborhood hangout and restful retreat. Friendly baristas engage with genuine warmth, crafting each cup with care and an attentive hand, whether it’s a velvety flat white or a delicately floral rose latte. Wood tables worn smooth by conversation and quiet work invite you to linger—whether you’re nestled in for a creative project, catching up with a friend, or simply soaking up the morning light.

ASIP’s menu reflects a curiosity and appreciation for both classic and unexpected flavors, with offerings like a charcoal latte or Mexican hot chocolate that speak to a playful spirit behind the counter. For those seeking comfort beyond coffee, the house-made pastries and subtle touches like alternative milks ensure there’s something thoughtful for every palate.

What truly sets ASIP apart is how it quietly nurtures connection—between people, place, and moments. It carries the feel of a bright, steady presence in a neighborhood that’s felt the weight of ups and downs. Here, the ritual of coffee becomes a small, everyday joy, wrapped in greenery, soft light, and a genuine desire to welcome you back again and again.

Cute little coffee shop, very good espresso, lots of beautiful plants, nice people, and a few treats. They have a nice espresso machine... shiny! Tons of plants all over which I love. They have beautiful natural wood tables that are stunning! The overall ambiance is very relaxing. Swing by, get a cappuccino, sit down, and chill.

The atmosphere is so nice. It looks so beautiful here. Love the decor and setup of it all. My friend tried the Monster Hunter drink, and unfortunately, she was not a fan. She did enjoy her blueberry parfait muffin. I would definitely return again for the atmosphere and to try a drink.

Still a great place to go and have a great cup of coffee and do a little work or socializing. Update: Still can't say enough positive. Consistent with service and quality !

ASIP coffee shop is a bright shining star in a town that is otherwise very dreary and sad. Merced has suffered a lot since the recession a few years ago. Each cup of coffee at ASIP is made by a talented barista with fun designs and everything. He and the whole crew are very friendly and interested in the customers. The shop is simply decorated with wood tables and succulents everywhere. The night I was there they had an impromptu song Night because it happened to be National Coffee Day. What impressed me the most was that the people in the coffee shop joined in the songs as well as interacted together as a community talking to the counter people and each other. It was just a really nice community place to go. They do all of their own coffee roasting and sell their roasted coffee in bags as well. They make delicious muffins and I just enjoyed the atmosphere as well as a coffee. They had Mexican hot chocolate and Mexican coffee which are always winners in my world.

I’ve been visiting this coffee shop for a while now, and it’s one of my favorites. The coffee is always good, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s a nice place to unwind or get a little work done.
